Liquidation FAQ

How is the liquidation price calculated?

For isolated margin: long ≈ entry × (1 − 1/leverage + maintenance margin rate); short ≈ entry × (1 + 1/leverage − maintenance margin rate). Higher leverage moves liquidation closer to your entry.

Why does my exchange show a slightly different number?

Exchanges include funding, fees and tiered maintenance margins, and may use cross margin. This is a close estimate; always confirm the exact figure on your exchange before trading.

How do I reduce liquidation risk?

Lower your leverage, add margin, set a stop-loss above your liquidation price, and avoid sizing positions where a normal move would wipe you out.

Check the token before you size the position

Leverage magnifies contract risk too. Scan the token for honeypot, owner-control and liquidity signals before you open a position.
